Starfish Autumn 2, Week 1

Well done for an amazing first week back, I hope you all had a lovely break. 

In Maths, we have been learning about addition. We have practised working out our answers using tens and ones. At the end of the week we started to answer addition word problems. We read the problem carefully, wrote the number sentence and then worked the answer out using our tens and ones. Cohen tried really hard and even helped his friends when they were stuck. 

In English, we have started our new booked called 'The Magic Porridge Pot'. It is about a girl names Hannah, who got given a magic porridge pot. But, a naughty bot stole it and porridge ended up everywhere! As a class we created a story map to help us remember the story and had a chance to tell the story to our friends. 

In Topic, we started our new mini project called 'Human Survival'. We learnt about the human life cycle and what things are needed for humans to live a healthy lifestyle. We were shocked to find out that a human needs atleast 10 hours sleep each night!
