Starfish Autumn 2, Week 2

This week in Maths, we have been learning how to subtract when exchanging is required. We have used our tens and ones to help us find the answers. On Thursday, we answered subtraction word problems. Miss Eaton taught us to underline the important information and then write the number sentence to make finding the answer easier. Hunter and IvyRose have been superstars in Maths.

In English, we have been learning how to use expanded noun phrases and time adverbials. We wrote a character description about Hannah and included a wide range of exciting adjectives. Lillie wrote, ‘Hannah had big, wide eyes’ and Tyler said “Hannah has long hair”.

In Topic, we started our new mini project called ‘Mix it’. We have had lots of fun exploring primary and secondary colours. We have learnt that mixing red and yellow makes orange, red and blue makes purple and yellow and blue make green. Ruby-Mai painted a lovely colour wheel and was able to explain why the colours were in that order.
