Starfish Summer 2, Week 1

This week in Maths, we have been learning how to partition numbers and find more than one way to partition them. We used our addition and subtraction skills to help us find the answers if we are stuck. Pearl and Ollie worked hard to find their answers and even double checked them using purple pen.

In English, we started our new piece of writing. We will be writing a setting a description about a castle. We will be sending our work to Princess Kate Middleton so that she can share them with her children. We have identified what features are in a description and picked some useful words we would like to use in our own writing pieces.

In topic this week, we have started our new mini project called ‘Animal Survival’. We have explored what a habitat, what living and non-living things live there and what temperature they are. We have also learnt about invertebrates; did you know that worms have no ears or eyes!
