Starfish Summer 2, Week 2

This week in Maths, we have been answering worded problems. Miss Eaton challenged us to answer 2 step problems, where two different methods are needed. Ollie and Aleksandra remembered to write their number sentences out to help them find the answer. Sati also challenged herself to use the written method to find the answer instead of her tens and ones!

In English, we planned our castle descriptions. Joseph created a lava castle, he wrote “the boo monster is walking through the air”. We also spoke about how to use verbs to expand our writing.

On Wednesday we had science day! We had fun making salt dough moths and, in the afternoon, we took them outside to hide them. Miss Eaton and Mrs Woollett then had to race to find them all. Well done to Noah, who hid his moth so well that we couldn’t find it and he had to show us where it was. We also learnt about animals and the habitats they live in. We then used Purple Mash to create a habitat for out chosen animal.
