Maths

This week, the children have been working on negative, number lines and rounding. On Wednesday we had great fun doing some Egyptian Maths, we counted using hieroglyphics and used nets to make pyramids.

English

During this week, the children started looking at non-chronological report. They found out that they would be writing a non-chronological report about Ancient Sumer for the Horrible Histories Team. The children looked at an example of a good non-chronological report and identified the features in it.     

Other Areas

This week, the children took part in Ancient Egyptian Day! They made decorative headdresses, bracelets and collars as well as making flatbreads. It was great to see them get excited about our new Topic – Ancient Civilisations.

In BSL we are continuing to look at transport and how long journeys take. It has given the children a good opportunity to connect previous learning of numbers and put it into a new context.
