Brilliant Bears Summer 2 Week 5

Date: 5th Jul 2024 @ 6:16am

This week, Reception have been diving into the fascinating world of ocean animals, looking at habitats and unique adaptations.  The children were particularly interested in discovering amazing facts about sharks. Maria said to me “sharks have an incredible sense of smell”.   What a fantastic fact to remember! 🦈

In Mathematics, the children have been spotting patterns in numbers, counting in twos and fives, and building their numerical fluency. Using number lines, we’ve also revisited subtraction once again. The children were taught how to “jump back” to find the difference between numbers. It’s been a joy to witness their confidence grow as they tackle subtraction challenges!

The highlight of our week was our trip to the National Adventure Farm park.  The Bears explored the farm and had fun meeting the friendly animals.  From cuddly lambs to cheeky goats, the children learned about farm life firsthand. The park’s kitchen garden and sandpit area provided endless fun too.  Thanks to the parent helpers who made the trip so successful!
