Topic

The children have been joyfully diving into our Geography based mini project called 'Our Wonderful World.' As part of this, the T-Rexes have been learning about human and physical features. Kodi, for example, did a fantastic job describing mountains and lakes, explaining that these physical features are naturally there. How clever!

Maths

In Maths, we've been busy little bees learning to count to and across 100 using a hundred square. The children have also been practicing reading and writing numerals and even attempted writing some plausible numbers in words. Here’s a joke: Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7, 8 (ate), 9! 🤭

English

For English, we’ve been using and applying last half term’s learning on the 1950s. We've been helping a lady named Miss Nancy who lived through that period but has lost her memory. We looked at different types of letters and gathered facts to prepare for writing a letter back to Miss Nancy with all our findings. The children have been so engaged and enthusiastic about this project!  Well done Year One you have certainly brought a smile to my face!
