Talented T-Rex Spring 2 Week 5
Date: 27th Mar 2025 @ 6:30pm
Take a look at our learning this week 🦖...
English
In English this week, the children have been planning and beginning to publish their work, focusing on using creative language to describe what they can see, hear, and feel during different seasons. Lily came up with some fantastic descriptions for Spring. She described hearing “lambs bleating in the green fields,” capturing the essence of the season in such a lovely way. T-Rex class has been doing a wonderful job using their imagination to bring the seasons to life. Well done, everyone!
Maths
In Maths, we’ve started exploring measures. We’ve been learning all about capacity, which is helping us understand how much a container can hold. The class has also been working on identifying and naming 3D shapes, as well as learning about their properties. Year One even squeezed in a lesson about learning to make turns—whether it's half a turn, a full turn, a quarter turn, or even a three-quarter turn. It’s been so much fun watching them apply these concepts in various activities!
Topic
In Topic, we’ve been getting creative with collagraph printing. Each T-Rex child designed a collagraph using their initials and a weather symbol, which they then printed onto paper. The results were fantastic! The children worked hard to carefully cut, stick, and layer materials to create their collagraphs, experimenting with textures and patterns.
Well done, everyone! Fantastic work!
