Woodpeckers Autumn 2 week 1
Date: 7th Nov 2024 @ 6:14pm
Hello all and welcome back from your half term break. This week we have had some really super homework presentations handed in about the digestive system and food chains. It has been great looking through the work and sharing a few with the class. We start of our Forest Schools sessions on Friday, we are very excited to know what we will be learning in our sessions this term. Please ask the children about their first session after school on Friday. In English this week, we started by researching events that happened back in 793AD, when the Vikings attacked and raided the monestry on Lindisfarne. The children created presentations about the events, which they will use later this term to help them write news reports about the event. In maths, we have been learning to check our answers by using the inverse operation. We have also revisited column addition and subtraction, using numbers in the thousands and ten thousands. Spanish launched our new topic, learning how to talk about people in our family. Finally, in science this week, we have learnt all about teeth and the different consumers who need different teeth to eat properly.
Woodpeckers weekly attendance: 94.6%
Well done to our Star Writer: Mia for her topic writing about eco-systems
Champion writers, earning pen licences this week are: Alyssa, Darcie-Rose, Disha, Freya and Jaheim.
