Woodpeckers Autumn 2 week 4
Date: 28th Nov 2024 @ 4:45pm
Well, we blinked and the week flew past because we have been so busy! This week the children have tackled fractions in maths. Mrs. Sanchez made them all hungry by referring to pizzas and chocolate bars, when considering what fractions actually mean. We followed on by finding fractions of amounts. They all did really well with this. In Englsih, we started our new myths topic. The children had to solve problems on Monday as part of our hook lesson. They needed to find out who had been really mean to Thor. Probably no surprise but it was Loki! In Spanish, we have continued learning about our family. In BSL, we learnt about clothes this week and applied our understanding of colours to help us describe what we were wearing. In RE, we continued to think about the Christmas story and look at the Christingle. We made a classroom Christingle - they smelt so nice! Finally, Forest School has been quite exciting over the past couple of weeks. Last week we were treated to some lovely soft snow so we were able to create some nature based snow sculptures. This week, we learnt how to tie a bow and a bowline knot.
Woodpecker's weekly attendance: 94.25 %
Well done to our star writer: Disha for her character designs in English
